‘Bermondsey Revolution’: Bringing the Salters to Life

Join John Whelan, Artistic Director of the People’s Company Theatre Group, as he gives his talk on the recent play, “Bermondsey Revolution” (shown at the Southwark Playhouse 26-28 Jan 2023).  Hear about the play, its history and how they brought the story of the Salters to life.

John will discuss how the play was created, using this amazing local history in a creative and inventive way. His talk will also look at how the key themes within the play, and the story of the Salters, resonate to contemporary Bermondsey and Rotherhithe. He will narrate and animate how the Salters created a Bermondsey Revolution!
